JUST out of interest, what is a SS of 40 [or higher] be equivalent to... in terms of grades?... would that be two low A+s for the mid-year and end-of-year exam and at least an A+ for SAC marks?

IF someone could clarify, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. :)

Three low A+'s will guarantee you a 38+ study score.
For a study score of 40 on the dot you'd probably be looking at low A+'s and a mid A+ for one of the exams

Low-Mid A should be enough for a 33

85/90 is an awesome mark! Probably not possible to get 50 even if you got full marks on the EOY but you can definitely get a 45.

What is your rank like and how strong is your cohort? These both also help to determine your study score.

I was the only person in my school to get an A+, and I'm rank 1 by like 20 marks.

What SS would I get if I got full marks on the Unit 4 exam (considering 85/90 [btw, is this a mid-A+?] for Unit 3 and Rank 1 for SACs)?

I think, with the results you have gotten, you could end up with a SS of 46~48... that's just me though... :P

YEP, according to a lecturer I went to this year... he said that GENERALLY (this may not always happen - but more than likely does) students who at least put in the effort for Unit 4 (as they did Unit 3)... will do better in the end-of-year exam than the mid-year exam, because the students who obtained 'crap' grades like... epically fail... fall off and give up on Accounting all together, thus increasing the likelyhood of doing BETTER in the end-of-year exam. :P

I suppose I should count myself as lucky then, since this is my only 3/4 subject as I'm in Year 11...

yeah, wasn't the cutoff for last years unit 4 exam higher than the unit 3 exam. Or did it have to do with difficulty?

YEP, the cut-off for an A+ in LAST YEAR'S Unit 4 Exam was 81/90 as opposed to this year's mid-year exam which was 78/90 (LAST YEAR'S mid-year exam cut-off for an A+ was 79.) It may have been due to it's difficulty... it probably was really easy...

LOL. in 2008 the cut-off for an A+ was in the Unit 4 Exam was 75/90... meaning that it was harder...

Thus, I reckon were bound for a harder exam this year, going off the trend in previous years.
