has anyone actually done both and is able to objectively compare? cos i would be interested to know who is better too.....

obvs, i'm a huge fan of Dr He :P

Well tram, niv reckons that for methods + spesh, jack doesn't get deep enough into the subject material, like he teaches you all the formulas and theory but he doesn't have all the really hard complicated stuff that you get with Doc He. I would agree that Jack is really good for the easy subjects like physics + chem and would highly recommend them, but with the maths, if u'r like a 35ish student and wanna get 40 then Jack is great... however if u'r a 40-45ish student then u want Dr. He to get u a 50

On a side note, I find it amusing that when a VCE student says, "yes Jack tonight" or any other tutor like Derrick Ha and Dr He that everyone knows who it is. Moreso in reference to "Jack" since it is such a common name.

Dr He apparently is a beast! But all in all, I guess it's your own perseverance. I mean getting into a Dr He class will change the way you think. For example, "I have a lot of expectation to live up to". So then again, it is just he is a 'good/bad' motivator. Then again, I guess having a good professor will have an influence on your marks as they can put you off a subject.
Au revoir VCE!

I found that when i fluked it to get in, it was more the realisation that i wasn't so good at maths that made me work harder, which had nothing to do with Dr. He himself. Dr. He is an incredibly nice guy and it's not him which directly motivates you, but the fact that you want to beat everyone else..and conquer is homework!
