Chemistry Lectures

In the same vane as a lot of other threads at the moment, which lecture do you think is best for Chem?

At the moment I'm planning to go to the free VU one and school pays for access education which is honestly terrible.

I'm wanting to go to another, more comprehensive lecture.

I was thinking of maybe going KBT, except they have not put info up yet. But they sound good, three 50s in chem and 99.95s, giving advice and generally being pr0(/making attendees more pr0?)...

TSFX is an option also, but I don't particularly want to spend $150, or go to the city for three sessions...

Any ideas? Opinions, alternatives, etc.

Go Chris Dwyer from access education if you can get him. Apart from him theres no other chemistry lecture you should really go to. This guy is chief examiner for chemistry so he marks the marking scheme/examiner's report. He talks very very fast so if you can bring something to record his lecture and re-listen to it it would be good. His notes arent very good though, not many questions but he gives people a nice understanding of concepts and etc

There's vceswot if you want cheap notes and lectures. In the interest of disclosure, I work with them and it's run entirely by students if that makes a difference.

Yeah VU one for chem unit 3 was okay, notes weren't bad except that it was rushed at the end and still went way overtime!

From personal experience, Chris Dwyer's lectures are the best, but are probably placed on the basic level. He is a lot more useful for unit 3 than unit 4.

If you want high quality hardcore stuff, I find NEAP chemistry to be fairly good.

Incidentally, Chris Dwyer was the lecturer I had for unit 3, which I based my previous evaluation off... He was quite a good lecturer, but really quite basic. Is he really chief examiner??

Russ, I understand that students in their first few years of uni are teaching it, do the kids know what they are doing? Are they very knowledgeable in their subject areas?

So NEAP is best by your measure, Mao?..

Yes and yes, but at the end of the day we're still students and the price reflects that (plus the fact it's aimed at underrepresented schools)

Haha good!

Ok now that Russ confirmed NEAP it is.
I'll go to TSFX for methods, don't really wont the same lecturer twice anyway (ive had that song woman for methods and chem so many times.. well maybe not that many but still..)
