well i didn't know where to put this hence the title.

i would just like to say:

To all of you out there doing year 12, who boast constantly about how you never do any work in class (or outside of class for that matter) and yet you still get at least A+s in EVERYTHING:
I hate you.

Its so unfair. Yes, you may be a genius but must you really flaunt it in people-who-aren't-as-smart-as-you's face?

And ok, maybe i don't really hate you but you are annoying. So, I give up.

There is no possible way I can study any harder so... I won't. Overtake my rankings, go ahead.

/Rant over.

People think I'm boastful when it comes to my grades -- but I wouldn't have gotten it if I didn't work hard and they wouldn't think I'm boastful if they stop asking me about my grades :-\. One of them asks: 'How can you get good grades? You're not too smart... you're just too close with the teacher.' Seriously man, those people kills my motivation.

you may be a genius but must you really flaunt it in people-who-aren't-as-smart-as-you's face?

I have this feeling at the start of the year with a friend. I was really annoyed about him. Although He started slacking off after the first sac and even wanted to drag me and telling me I'll never get good grades on my legal sacs (since we've only been doing it for this year).

I ignored that and proved him wrong.

nahh, most genius' weren't good at everything, albert einstein for example failed many subjects but was always exceptional in physics and maths.

I have problem too. Nobody at my school does anything, but they hate me for getting good marks. If I say I'm worried about the SAC they're like "shut up, you'll do well" and if I say something confident they say I'm showing off. I'm actually starting to believe what parents tell you from early on, they really do make fun of the smart kids because they are jealous:P

I don't mind it really. The flaunting kind of sucks i guess if they're extremely over the top.  Either way naturally intelligent or hard work, if you get the grades you deserve to get into the course you want to either way. Naturally intelligent people who want to do university belong there too.

VCE is basically work in work out for most people, so really, all the work you're putting in isn't going to waste. Every hour of study almost certainly wont hurt your marks and will in likely-hood make them higher, so don't give up.

The thing i hate the most is when people say they have failed when they clearly haven't. Oh no... i failed... then they end up getting like 90% and are still disappointed. That is all that irks me.

But failure is such a personally defined word. Failure for some may be more than others will ever achieve.

This is the way I think of it: every mark lost which could have been gained, is a form of failure in itself.

People need to be careful though with how much fuss they make about losing only one mark or something similar; going overboard is disrespectful of those who can't reach such high marks even when they put the effort in.
