Pre-req units for UoM post grad

In particular the medical courses such as optometry, dentistry, veterinary, audiology, speech etc etc

Would a BBioMedSc/BEng @ Monash satisfy all prereq units (in other words, are the pre reqs embedded within the rigid course structure)? My understanding is that BSc/BEng would not as there is no room to squeeze in extra units without overloading almost every semester.

Thanks for any help.

Differs between what pgrad you want to get into I think, but there are lists of approved (and not satisfactory) subjects on the UoM website. I'm not going to check the monash course, do that yourself  then compare it.

Not sure if medical science has all the prerequisites but each postgrad course has different prerequisites, so check every pgrad course you want to get into then compare it to whatyou can take or what is already embedded in bachelor of biomedical science.

If you want to do some kind of medical course later why not just take biomedicine or science?

I'm split between engineering and medical, i think it would be wiser to go for both and then decide after 1-2 years of uni which one to drop. Im reluctant to go into biomed @ uom out of fear that i'll not like it, then waste more time and money trying to transfer to eng @ monash.

Also... is it possible to just squeeze in some pre req units towards the end of your ugrad degree? to fulfil the reqs of a certain pgrad. i think the guy at uom open day said you can do any units any time you want, doesnt matter if its a 2nd year subject, you can do it in 4th or 5th year too if you want

If you're not sure what you want, sounds like a general science degree at melbourne or a double at monash are you best bets.

You can take units whenever you want as long as: you meet the prereqs, you have room in your subject load and you're allowed to take it. That said, the UoM prereqs are pretty broad since they want biochemistry/anatomy/physiology for medicine - you won't be able to just cram them in at the end, you'll need to plan it out.

You can do units outside course requirements at some universities (e.g. At Melbourne, there's the Community Access Program), but it may involve additional fees, including having to pay full-fee for the course.
