So... Are any schools still open for admission next year?

I'm not going to go into the specifics, because it'd take wayyyy too long, but ATM I'm really fed up with my school.
I have spent the night searching, but it seems that I have left my run too late, and most admissions have closed already.
Does anyone know of any school, either in the CBD or along the Frankston Train Line, that has a decent reputation, and hasn't closed Year 12 Entry yet?

PLLEEEEAAASSSEEE HEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!! :'(

Try out for a scholarship or selective High school :)
Not a lot of private schools that offer schoalrships in yr 12 though. I didn't even know John Monash had a few entry going into yr 11, I totally could have tried out for this as I thought it was only for yr 9s going inot yr 10. This school may have a few places up for grabs in yr 12, as does other selective schools such as MacRob and 6 places for Melbourne high.
Or if you're not scholarships/selective type of person go to a reputable public school. Is Frankston a southern suburb? I can think of Mount Waverly SC, Glen Waverly SC, Box Hill, ahh oh and St. Bedes which is Catholic for boys in the South.

^ Do not... and i emphasise 'NOT' even considering going to St Bedes. The price tag is hefty, the teachers are clueless and unhelpful, the school does not support academia in the slightest and 90% of the students there are borderline moronic in that they really have no goal in life and just want to muck around at the expense of others' future.

Haha there are too many "don't go to this school" and not enough "come to my school", which was my fear.

Well I've basically checked all selective entry, all the top ones like MGS and Scotch, but all have closed, I missed out on MGS by a week!!!

Yeh Frankston is basically as far south as the train goes, along the rim of Port Philip Bay, and I'm 1/2 an hour south of Frankston, where there is no public transport to Frankston Station, but Mum says she'd take me to the station every morning haha

I think I'm just gonna have to suck it up, I've lost my chances of a good education :(

I won't name it online for fear of persecution, but the top link should suffice

check our results from the last few years (in particular english), btw we have a year 12 cohort of ~275.

I just get annoyed, because I see how many opportunities people have on here, and the access to resources are enormous.
Unfortunately, the area that I'm lacking is in the English Dept, which is our school's worst subject, and when questioning my English teacher on what more I could do to improve my English (bare in mind I'm a very hard worker, I'm doing my own 3/4 work for 3 of my Year 11 subs already), and his answer was....
"Put your hand up in class"
Like seriously, even if I contribute my opinions, that is not going to get me anywhere, especially when we have never been taught any essay techniques, what to do/what not to do etc.

I don't enjoy bagging out my school, I feel bad for doing it, but I just feel that I'm not exploring all my possible options, skills and abilities at the school, and the general cohort don't give a shit, well bad luck, I do, so stop holding me back!
I'm sure anyone in my situation knows how it feels, and I'm sure everyone hates some aspects of their school, I'm just in a shitty mood and looking for a way out haha

GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!

haha. You should send an email detailing your situation to all the schools you wish to apply for some may offer you something. It's worth a shot at least.

What about Frankston High School? There are a couple of good students in there too. Besides, a school is not everything. Education is up to yourself really. (Unless you were in a case like mine, where my damn school didn't allow me to do 2 VCE subjects in year 11, now that's affecting my VCE program haha)
MHS policy is the strictest out of all schools :( ;; not only can't yu' do two 3/4s in Year 11 but you cannot even complete a 1/2 sequence in Year 10...

Trust me mate you're not missing out on alot haha. You can still do unit 1 for a few subjects, and for most subjects (which are permitted in year 12) that will suffice.

Not doing two 3/4s is a little annoying though, school is "reviewing" that but it seems they won't change anything for quite some time.

Yet, they still manage to get so good. Clearly it doesn't reallly affect them from achieving their best. Plus isn't that the same with Melbourne Grammar?

Luken you seem like you are capable of achieving a high result, it doesn't really matter where you go. But then again,
don't like school = feel sad = unconfident = affects exam marks.
I just tried googling for good schools for yr 12 entry but havent really found any that hasnt closed yet and I dont know any good public schools specifically in Frankston. Therefore, I would suggest staying at your school and just hiring really good tutors (expensive if necessary). Theres proof everywhere that demonstrate how students who attend a baddish school still manage to get good or get into the course they want.  :)
