Hey guys,
I went to the VCE expo today and there are so many different resources for sale- Leading Edge, Cambridge checkpoints, Excel Revise, A+, Lisachem study guides, Macmillan Exambusters, NEAP Smartstudy guides, TSSM etc. Of course there is no point buying all of these, just wanted to know which few guides/practice exam booklets have helped you and are better than others?

Checkpoints is awesome and A+ publishing. NEAP smartstudy guides don't seem to have much questions

I second the A+ resources especially for science subjects.

Does anyone use Exambusters? I didn't know they existed til today. The people selling them were saying how they these are similar to checkpoints but better.. is that true?

Exambusters is similiar to checkpoints. They take past exam questions and show the fully worked solutions and how to overcome common exam tricks associated with each question.

exambuster is more notes than practice questions. it is organised into types of questions then area of study, and is quite good  for revision and for taking as the bound notes. however, if you need practice, the A+ notes has a lot of questions with ranked difficulty, and NEAP and A+ exam packs have practice exams/questions that you might find useful.

i don't know about specialist exambusters, but i bought the exambusters for further, methods and accounting today. they seem pretty useful and they were only $20 each.
they have annotated past exam questions and they tell you common mistakes that students make. i'll probably use it as a bound reference.

This may be a stupid question but what specifically do you mean? Do you mean you will just use the notes in the exambusters to help you write your notes for your summary book?

There are blank pages in exambusters for you to write in additional notes. :)

So your allowed to take the Exambusters book into the further maths exam and use it as your bound reference book?? I thought you were only allowed to take in the Maths text book or your own notes that you have created?

There's no restriction to which book you take into the exams. It just has to be "bounded" with unremovable pages.

Yeah, I bought the Further exambusters book today, it's really good because you just go through it to find a similar question to the one on the exam and thengo through the processes.. it also lists the mistakes that students make so it helps you to keep on track. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have bought the book (or even knew it existed) haha so thanks

lol no worries mate.
that's what i liked about it- having actual exam questions and how to do them, rather than just your usual summary notes
