Hey, guys my name is Abd and these are the subjects i'm might be doing next year.

[English]
[Physics]
[Physical Education]
[Health And Human Development]
[General Mathematics (Advanced)]
[Mathematical Methods] and all of those six's are 1/2.

Will doing these subjects will scale my score down for year 11 next year? rr
Or should i do the Asian five because i hate biology which has heaps of reading my english
is it terrible -.- . I suck at chemistry too
i haven't started or completed a 1/2 VCE unit for this year.
I may sound like a retard, but help is urgent!  ::)

I'm not sure Physical Education and Health and Human Development scale up. I think those 2 subjects get scaled down or either remain the same (correct if I'm wrong!). With the subjects you have chosen, it seems a good choice. In relation to choosing the 'Asian five'... Biology and Chemistry... it depends on what your goals/plans are after Year 12... what course do you want to get into... Most medical-related (like Medicine etc) require Chemistry as a pre-requisite. Do what you enjoy!.. that's what will get you the best possible marks. Assuming that your going into Year 11 next year, there isn't much to worry... it's really only when you're doing a 3/4 VCE subject, that it matters. 1/2 VCE subjects don't have any bearing on your ATAR score whatsoever.

Good Luck!

Actually, Biology is also an add-on expansion pack of the Asian 5. Same goes with Accounting. However, Biology is not a stand-alone meaning that you need the original game (Asian 5) in order to use the new content (Biology)

my english is it terrible

Doesn't really matter since you're in Y10. Just work hard in English for the next two years and you'll see leaps in your writing/reading ability; do all the set work and maybe a bit extra (i.e. write extra essays and ask for feedback.)
2009
~ Methods (Non-CAS) [48 --> 49.4]

2010
~ Spesh [50 --> 51.6]
~ Physics [50 --> 50]
~ Chem [43 --> 46.5]
~ English [46 --> 46.2]
~ UMEP Maths [5.0]

2010 ATAR: 99.90
Aggregate 206.8

Yeah, I'd agree. Your subject selections/choices should be based upon what you want to do in uni (dream course).

i've heard you can replace bio with a lote subject. People told me it gives good contribution to your score.

This is true. Generally most languages would at least scale up by 1 or 2. Languages are also quite good if you're planning to work overseas in the future. My warning to you is just don't choose a LOTE subject, because of the scaling. Though there is the obvious appeal, you'd be better off doing a subject which you enjoy and are confident at!

The best piece of advice i think i can give you (and anyone for that matter) is to do what you enjoy. You will really have a much much better time out of VCE if you enjoy the subjects and enjoy showing up to class, so do that to the greatest extent you can and it will reward you. Don't worry about what subjects scaled the most or anything.

On the other hand you of course must satisfy your prerequisites and there is really no way around that except to take those. That doesn't mean the other 4 subjects you take (or whatever number) cant be ones you enjoy though.

Over the over the 7-8 weeks of summer holiday. I will emphasize studying in chem the most out of the six subjects; i've chosen. I need to study a lot in my lame ass english wiriting skills like e.g (sentence structure, essays and grammar). In year 12 i heard that you were allow to do five subjects and the six subject i'll be dropping  HHD and i would be be left with hard ass subjects. "The Big Game" starts next year for the year 10 students for this year as well the lovely year 11 student, but booooy shit gets real in VCE. :)
"The Big Game" is one I'm looking forward to;; ppl complain about VCE and SACS but tbh it sounds sexy fun! Y10 is the biggest bore I've had with loads of compulsory shit from geography, history to community service and work experience...also Y11 sounds extra sexy with 14 frees a fortnight [cuz im VET-ing] and socials/formals etc....let the game begin!
