...Lol don't worry about the exact number, just know all the ones that you know you are going to use. I would there are about 50ish quotes that I could use off the top of my head right now? Maybe I'm exaggerating because I haven't counted lol.

tbh i would use around 10 intergrated quotes like quotes that just naturally fuse into my essay and 5 other strong relatively longer quotes as evidence quotes

Stupid question in my opinion..It's not "how many quotes you know" its how you are able to use these quotes in responce to the question. By the time of the exam you should know your text well enough to think of any quotes to use to support your interpretation

know general quotes that are likely to be used. 50 is a waste in my opinion, you'll probably use 10 max. just know the quotes that are likely to apply, and can perhaps be used to provide evidence for more than one point.

Sigh I'm rereading my text response novel right now and OMG TOO MANY PROFOUND QUOTES TO CHOOSE FROM X.X If I had to count all the ones I like, it would total up to about 200ish =.=.

Another tip: avoid the obvious quotes. Imagine the examiner reading "2+2=5" or "facts, facts, facts" in literally every essay they read.

>.< Some quotes are just too essential to omit. E.g Richard III: "I am determined to prove a villain."

It is better to use 2-4 word quotes that flow such as: Keller is characterised as a recluse "in his own world" and "in his own time" (demonstrates your knowledge with evidence, rather than quoting a whole sentence.)
So don't fret dude, it'll all work out. Use approx 3 per paragraph and you will be fine

Optimally I'd remember at least 50 if you want to be prepared for ANYTHING.  If you don't have time, about 20-30 is probably enough if you do it intelligently (ie. the key quotes).

is it ok that i dont actually have a list of quotes?

I just write, and when thinking of examples, i just think of a scene and then thinkk of what certain characters said lol? Does anyone else do this. I've read AMFAS a good ~10 times, and its only 90 pages so i thought it was much easier to do it this way...

Yea same.

I think it's better that way because we basically remember most of the play (memory don't forsake me on the 28th ><) :D

Very true. When you work with too many quotes, you run the risk of just writing with quotes rather than your own expression. It really, really annoying to see quotation marks every single sentence. So yea, optimally you want 3-5ish quotes a paragraph.

Spamming essays while having a reference sheet of quotes beside you.
