I'd say you'd be the only one.

I think there are a few parents on here (and even a few teachers) but not many, and they tend to not be particularly active.

Thanks again. We've been here for a year now and she will be moving into Y10 next year; will be starting Units 1 & 2 of French and Methods in Y10  and completing them in Year11.
Wow smart kid, well you're in the right place if she/you needs any help!

There are lots of free resources to help you through vce on the net, here are a few i found useful:

http://shtooka.net/fr/
you can type in a word on this site and it will play the french pronunciation

http://24hdanslepacifique.com/
this is a news podcast for the pacific region. not that interesting, but good listening practice since the podcasts have an accompanying transcript of the french so that you can check your aural comprehension.

http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/MelbourneLibraryService/aboutmls/Pages/Librarylocations.aspx
The City Library near flinders st station has a lot of french books such as graded readers with companion audio cds, and grammar drills. The more reading material you can get exposed to the better.

the SBS radio french podcast, which you can find at their website, is also good to have playing in the background.

If you are game enough to learn some french as well, to help your daughter out, then a good, simple, and self-contained primer can be found in the old "Teach Yourself French" by N. Scarlyn Wilson. You can probably pick it up from abebooks.com for around $5, and it should get you to the level of reading french with some casual study. It has an answer key in the back.

The Alliance Française (http://www.afmelbourne.asn.au/) will also have lots of useful stuff more specifically geared towards VCE french students.

bonne chance!
