How exciting :)

Shinny, did you do Whose Reality? Because I swear to god, that context got shafted so hard in 2008

Yep, Whose Reality. It was a big shock because I didn't think they'd ask about the consequences of differing realities since that inevitably ends up being related to conflict, and there's already an entirely separate context on conflict. If it was anything relating to the factors contributing to differing realities, I would've easily aced it =/

=/ Our teachers told us that Whose Reality? has had all the hard promtps, whilst the other contexts get basic promtps similar to the first prompts they ever wrote on.

But I don't really see anything hard about the last 2 years prompts 0.o One is just about subjectiv perception, and the other is about illusions

The context is just much harder to get your head around to begin with - it's not really related to the prompts. Those that are more philosophical do well; majority of the state however aren't in this boat.

Not really. Just spend a bit of time preparing or stealing ideas from others and you'll be on a level playing field.

...maybe a little late

I utilize my science knowledge (or lack there of) for my pieces. It seems to work quite well when form, purpose and audience are considered.

Here's the creepy thing... In preparation for Shark Net I went to Perth, to cottlesloe, rottnest, kings garden and circe circle to see what I thought of it. I acctually got dragged along by my parents, quite ironic considering Drewe's life.

Also, they are big windows!

I think rather than stealing ideas play to your strengths. If you are inclined to science or mathematics then use that in your Whose Reality pieces. This is true particularly with Enduring Love which does relate well to science.
See www.kbtlectures.com for free chemistry trial exams.

Planning to offer midyear and end-of-year lectures for Chemistry in 2011. 3 students with a collective 12 raw and 15 scaled 50s.

Oh wow that is good news. What school is that? I know a kid from Scotch in year 8 and he knows way way more chemistry than I did in year 10 even. However I find in private schools parents very regularly make the mistake of thinking their kids are intelligent because they are well educated.

Melbourne Grammar.  That year 8 would be an anomaly.  Not even Scotch pushes their kids that far ahead of the syllabus.

lols well said, a lot of people do well because of a private school but arent intelligent (i hope i'm not under that category)

i was at scotch and (although i didnt attend another school in high school so can't compare) we didnt learn VCE content until the VCE...

in answer the the thread question, i did really well year 7-9, then cbf'd in year 10 and 11 (C+ on unit 2 chem exam, C on unit 2 methods, etc). that said, still got 49 and 47 for pe and bio in year 11. got 99.85 in year 12 when i tried, and got 43 in methods... which i was disappointed with. still did poorly in methods lol.

i think it depends a lot on your intelligence, willingness to work, and the subjects you choose (e.g. languages (inc english), maths are cumulative so really you need knowledge from years 7-12)

What about for:
English
Psychology
Business Management
Legal

You used to be able to lose about 3 marks on each psychology exam,
but nowadays, they're made them a lot more difficult,
i know someone who lost 7.5 and 6 marks in psych exams last year,
and got a 50
so now it isnt so much luck (if you misread a question, you could easily have lost more than 3 marks previously), so if you've studied well, you are bound to do well :D
