If it was that bad, they can change it if they have to. Why else would they change the mark allocation. I reckon no shit, over like 100 people got full marks on the mid year...
Is that actually true? It seems kind of high. But then again, I know five kids from my school alone who full marked it so...
Nah, I made it up, but I certainly think there will be a few. I possibly went overboard. 
I highly, highly doubt that 100 people got full marks. There were only 107 last year for the physics midyear, and the cutoff was massive (95.5%). If there were a similar number of 100%'s, then you'd expect a similar cutoff, percentage-wise. Thus, as the cutoff was below 90%, it is fair to assume that there were significantly less people who aced it.
As the cutoff has more than doubled (10% rather than 4.5%), I'd say that the number of full markers would reduce by a factor of four, so ~26-27 - though obviously the number is not directly dependent on the cutoff.
