Suggested exam trick
« on: October 26, 2010, 10:05:08 pm »
I was thinking of the usual scratching the multiple choice answer technique but instead of scratching near the answer so that it isn't obvious to the examiner scratch on the far opposite of the of MC q's where one scratch=a
two would =b and 3 would =c and 4 would equal=d. I think making these marks tiny would be best but so it's visible also. This way examiner will overlook the scratching technique.

So tell me what you think of this modified idea of the scratching technique.

Useless?

Just do the exam properly; there's no need to risk mixing answers up and getting penalties for that. Do a few practices and get it down to time - and use the reading time to thoroughly read through the paper.

I never really understood how students can do these things >.<
Why can't you just remember them in your head instead? I often remember what the answer is just my looking at it.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

i was considering this but it's really worthless.
especially with bio you're better off reading ALL the worded questions REALLY well so you don't have to waste any time of writing time reading,
if you've read over it all really well you should have much <10 minutes of reading time left and if you're done just look at the first 5 mc and answer them in your head, not hard to remember just 5 letters...
beats getting caught and failing.

...even though going on the midyears the examiners were two nice old ladies who would never catch that out...
...
but then there's also the karma for breakin' da r00lz.

Not only this, but if someone catches you doing any type of "exam tricks" they'll do their own "exam trick" and kick your ass out of the room.
Theres no point risking it..
