Does your teachers prediction mean anything?

Hey everyone

just a quick question, when I was getting some prac stuff marked by my teacher she mentioned she had entered my exam mark (predicted) in for VCAA, what does that mean?

Does it have an leverage, or is it even out with what we actually got?

It's used in relation to your GAT score if you

a) do VERY different
b) get run over by a truck prior to exam and are unable to attend

But it can also reflect badly for instance if you get an A+ as a predicted score and preform lower than that in an exam they'll asume your teacher marks sacs to easy and will lower your sac score accordingly

You are correct, LFTM. If you have an indicative grade of A+ for example by your teacher, and you score a C, they will re-assess it one more time just to double-check. You must be out by two-grades to be reassessed.

Only if your GAT marks also support this large difference and if the teacher's indicative grades match the general trend of the actual exam marks.

Apparently only if you get like a D when you were predicted an A.

So does that mean if you got D's in your sacs, because your teacher is hopeless and lazy, and she predicts a D for the exam.  However two tutors later, you manage to pull an A, do they change anything that may benefit your overall study score?

That'd be worst clearskies, because then your teacher will be reviewed and so will your work.

But wouldn't that be a good thing.  She only taught half the curriculum.  We had sacs with questions we had not even covered.  Why would that be detrimental to my scores.  I can only do what I can do.  I have worked extremely hard over the past 5 months, and dont see why I should be penalised because of her incompetence.  We are talking maths methods here. Thks

Most my friends who do methods spend a lot of time each week teaching themselves though. The teacher is less important than with English or something.
