Do nucleotides get added from the 5' to 3' direction or the 3' to 5' direction?

The enzymes read/act in a 3' to 5' direction, meaning the nucleotides are added in the 5' to 3' direction with respect to the complementary strand.

This.
Just know that no matter what they are always ADDED to the 3' end.
this gets confusing as because they are added to the 3' end the template is actually read in a 3'-->5' direction.
