What exam score is required, considering I'm rank 1?
2009: IT Applications
2010: Chemistry | Literature | Methods (CAS) | Physical Education | Health and Human Development
ATAR required: 86, ATAR aim: 90+

ok this is embarrassing.. i did hhd last year and got B A B+ which gave me a 33 :S

so im thinking with you being ranked number 1, you would need at least an A.
(don't quote me on this though)
2009: HHD [33]

2010: English [33] . Biology [31] . Methods CAS [24] . Physical Education [38] . Food Technology [39]  13 years of full time school is now done and dusted!

Atar needed: 76.15
My 2010 ATAR 76.25

2011: Deakin Uni - fingers crossed!!

High A+.
To get 45 or above, you need to be in the top 2% of the state for that subject.
Generally, the top 8% get A+s. Being in the top 8% merely gets you ~40.

IF I did REALLY well on the end of the year exam (high A+) would I be able to get 45+ even though my SACs marks are low (C+)? would your SAC marks bring you down a lot?  thanks

generally, it is the strength of your cohort and your ranking within that cohort which are the most integral elements of SACs.
Exam is the great moderator, ace that with a good ranking in a relatively strong cohort and you will be fine.

you would need to minimise the amount of marks lost in the exam as much as possible, but yes, still possible, just hard.

Good luck

I have a mid 80's SAC average for both Units which has me ranked pretty highly in a strong cohort, what Study Score would I be looking at if I were to get a mid A+ on the exam?

Just wondering, in my class there are only 3 people that do well at all, the rest of the students barely pass. Will their horrible marks effect my results positively or negatively? I am second cohort by a few marks.
