what is the half-life of potassium 40?
2010: Biology 37+   Literature 25+    Physical ed 36+   Psychology 44+
ATAR: 80+ and I will be happy.

1.3 billion years according to that Douchy guy (only found out about this guy yesterday, got a lot of listening to do :/)

long enough that you can say it for anything that is too old for carbon dating i'm pretty sure.

be careful though, if the halflife is too big, it probs wont be useful... uranium is generally a good one to use for relatively recent evolution stuff

Rubidium and Strontium is your go to guy for old stuff i'd say and anything under 50 000 years carbon.... not sure if youll see much on the ones inbetween....

ESR is always an option as well but its not really radioisotropic per se...

carbon obviously for anything carbon-based under 50 000 years, then yes Uranium 235. Rb etc are way too old to be relevant for anything except extremely deep phylogenetic inferences... and hence unlikely to be useful for a vce bio exam
