Surprised me that many of  my friends didn't pick up on it at all, and just left out

Don't think it's a major thing really, but I just wanted to see if anyone else was aware of it.

I thought I was on to something when I was discussing about how it reinforces the idea of 'review and more forward' and taking intentory of the achievements and the events that occured.

But then I found out that it really wasn't on the right track.

and I thought I was so smart for refering to the attendees of the event as 'delegates' who were specialists in their fields.....

I think its going to be really interesting how this is marked considering alot of people found the speech challenging and alot of key featres seemed to have been missed.

I was kind of dissapointed because I was nearly 100% sure we would see a comparitive...

Are you supposed to analyse the title if it was a speech? :S Surely the speaker wouldn't have a title for his speech.. would they?

N.B. I didn't do the eng exam, just wondering, in case it comes up next year or something.

What we have been taught for english language is analyse everything you are given, and the higher percentile really need to look at the layout as a whole rather than just the text.

So I'm guessing people should pick up on, the context, images (that its a slideshow) and title.

Remember, guys, it was a TRANSCRIPT of a keynote speech!

Transcripts are usually viewable online and in public documents.... not necessarily addressed to the active listening audience that we all thought was the target audience.

You should have made the distinction between the readers and the listeners - the audience reading the TRANSCRIPT and the audience listening to Lee's SPEECH... two totally different audiences, purposes, and the one in particular, EFFECTS.

oh yes definitely i wasnt denying that

just one of the posts said that they werent too sure if it was even the title as it was embedded within the first slide.

Well if i had known what the title actually meant, i would have stated that it familiarizes the audience with the purpose of the piece...

in the last sentence of the background info it said that the purpose was to review progress made since 2002, so Lee is 'Taking Stock' of what has/hasnt been achieved.

What else would there be to say?
