I know communication is a suitable skill for an Autocratic manager due to it being accepted in the past on examiners reports. An autocratic manager has a one way communication system adopted, but isnt communication the two way process of sending and recieving information effectively ? yeah its pretty much the only thing concerning me in Business management.

I think the "receiving information" part is the main bit as an autocratic manager wouldn't normally listen to employees. I'm not quite sure what your question is though?  Maybe rephrase it and I'll try to help out more..

Yeh I think I understand what you mean, how can a manager under the autocratic style possess communication skills if there is only a one way process?

Yeh that's what I mean, Persuasive is closer to comm skills than autocratic is, but even that is further away than a 2 way process.
Where's the proof? I might ask my teacher...

Change your definition to the process of transferring information from sender to receiver. Skills for autocratic include problem solving/decision making and time management as well.

I think it is? I remember in the 2007 paper there was a question about the autocratic management being put into place and what skills would need to be implemented... it was accepted to put communication as the manager needed to know how to handle his employees

I spose in a job like a fire fighter (which is autocratic), communication skills are still essential to send a clear message to crews etc, and hear what they have to say if they are in the action?

True but AFAIK Comm is a TWO WAY process, and is always regarded as that...

yeah theoretically Communication is TWO - way. An autocratic manager only sees one -way communication, which creates confusion when trying to apply the skill to such a manager.
