what do you guys think the chances of them reusing passages/poems before? have they ever done it? it's VCAA so i wouldnt underestimate their pure unadulterated evil tbh...

i have to admit, i haven't really gone as in depth on the passages they've used before as opposed to my super-ninja-in-depth-analysis on every single word on every other passage

It doesn't seem very likely that they'll do this, but you never know (which is the scariest thing about VCAA!). I just hope that the passages/poems have interesting links that I can run with and hopefully get 43+!!!

I doubt they would repeat passages.

It's different story with poetry. I'm studying Philip Larkin and this is the fourth year he has been on the literature list. There are ten of his poems set for study. That means there's only one left that has never appeared on the exam. I wonder if VCAA will use that poem this year? Or will they think it to be too obvious?

i'm doing keats and in the two years it's been on, they've had 6 different poems. there are about 8 or 9 poems they haven't done yet. do you think they'll use them or repeat poems?

maybe they'll use different sections of poems? i'm not familiar with larkin's work but maybe they only used a particular excerpt in previous years and they''ll use a different section this yr

Hmm, that's true. Only half of two poems were used. I think I'm gonna go make myself a prac exam with those three possibilities now. Thank you!

In the past, what they've done is take part of a passage from previous years, use the second half, and continued onwards.  Technically not "reusing" a passage, but it may as well be.

One would expect they could be bloody creative enough considering they update the study design every what, six years? and all they are doing is leafing through a book but...
I wouldn't put it past the VCAA to reuse material.
