inappropriate use of jargon in medical consent forms can skew the audience's understandability of the text. 'magnitude of procedural risk' (meaning high risk)

facts = 18.5% of consent forms detail the procedure in plain english, without the overuse of jargon

shell shock -> combat fatigue -> PTSD example of PC language (and euphemism) to obscure clear thinking and lessen the meaning behind the word

deaf people -> hearing impaired

blind people -> visually impaired
