Trig was simply similar shapes. Dont have the numbers on me but I only got one mark for it since I didnt add on the first part to get the real answer.
And number patterns you saw that Tollway B was more expensive to the 10th part of road and after that it became cheaper then Tollway A.

AAAAH NO! had no clue what to do in the exam and now it's revealed to be so simple! so you were meant to use spreadsheets on CAS?

Yeah thats what I did. Thought of how to do it properly in the last 10 minutes.

it wasnt similar shapes, you had to extend it to makes them triangles, then use the 3 triangles to get the height... it was a really tricky question!!!

Thanks to MAV 2010 I did that question wrong! They had a similar question on a trapezium prism. :@

yeah i got 7.75, rather than extending it to make it into a triangle, you could 'cut' the shape into two, the bottom being a rectangle, the top being a triangle, then use similar triangles to find the length of the thingo

took me like 10mins to realise this but im pre sure all you had to do was create 22 triangles then you could use trig to find out the height which you add to 4.5 which got you an answer of 7.75 or seomthing... im pre sure this is how you do it, my teacher thinks it was right as well. pretty trippy question
