Questions About Legal Studies .....

Hi everyone,

I'm currently undertaking Legal Units 1 and 2 this year and am enjoying every aspect of it  :) .. but there are just some things which I'd like to clarify about this subject.

Is it true if we get over a study score of 40 the mark stays the same, or does it still get scaled down?

And I'm finding it difficult to narrow the terms/definitions/procedures down to the most important-- they all appear important to me! lol

If anyone has any advice about maintaining/retaining knowledge and key concepts about Legal it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ^^

In regards to scaling, in both 2006 and 2007 a 40 stayed the same.

Well my teacher said, unlike science subjects (psych) , Legla Studies isnt necessarily involved with Memory, its about collating everything you have learned throught the year to have a thorough understanding of the topic. For me, it isnt that difficult to understand the concepts in legal, but if you feel like you dont understand something, ask for help straight away.

Also check out some other Legal Studies Textbooks, as they differ from school to school and some may be easier to understand than others.

Read the paper daily and be aware of the 'major' legal cases currently on within Victoria, and listen for the outcome.

I'd reccomend going on the excursions throughout the year you might have. Last year our legal class went to the magistrates court, and this year (Unit 3 and 4) we went to Barwon Prison and the Supreme Court and both were very worth while.

I hope i've helped you in some way :P

I disagree i found memorizing an enormous part of the course because there is so much you have to know and be able to recall. Thats my 2 cents worth

I think you are both right in a way.
You need to memorise the information so that you can apply it but if you can't apply what you have memorised you won't get a GREAT score.
