So we can see how many people lost the 5 marks and hence estimate the approx A+ cutoff

My estimation: 10-20%

Estimate away!

Judging from these forums (Which contain a lot of the top performers in methods in the state), facebook and post-exam talk i reckon...

~20-40%

Probably down the lower end

Waaaait im confused... the title is asking for % of students who got it but your post seems to say % of students who didnt

Out of the whole state - I estimate 6% got the 5 marks.
The Finnish word pilkunnussija, which translates literally to “comma fucker,” is someone who risks his social wellbeing to annoyingly and persistently point out punctuation errors.

10%, so the A+ people are the ones who got this question right.

.......or else VCAA will have alot of squishing kids at 35 to do haha

hmmmm lets see, so this kid got 35, but 80% of the population got 35/40...i'll put this kid at B

haha thanks ;)

But yeah i've been thinking,

if too many people get the 35, would VCAA make >36 the A+? i mean lets say

36+ / 40 = 8% got it
but if they put it down to 35 / 40, then 20% would get it

i doubt they would split the 35 into half and say you go in the A region and you go in the A+ region.

They can....

They use your GAT if your Between a B and B+ for example to determine which way you go.... (hooray for overheard convos on the bus?)

In that case it wouldn't make a difference, the only advantage that comes from them NOT doing that is that we get to brag and say we got an A+ when in reality it's pretty much just a high A or low A+ or whatever. :D

True. But I doubt that everyone who didn't get the 5 marks wouldn't have made a stupid mistake somewhere else and this would somewhat spread out the mark distribution... I don't know because I didn't sit this exam, but if hypothetically you didn't solve 11 a), you wouldn't be able to get consequential marks for b) and c), right? Because if they're 1 mark questions, the 1 mark is for the correct answer.

11a) and 11c) was 2 marks each
