Molecule - 2+ elements joined together
Compound - 2+ DIFFERENT elements joined together => compound is a subset of molecule *escorts self from chem board*

Eg:
O2 - molecule
CO2 - compound (and molecule)

All compounds are molecules but not all molecules are compounds.

Are you sure?

I wouldn't call a solid lattice of sodium and chlorine ions as a molecule, but I would certainly call it a compound.

A compound simply is something that has two different elements in it. A molecule is typically something that has a structure formed with covalent bonds.

Surprising my sister had the same question as well...

So all molecules have covalent bonds??? Are there any exceptions?
