It's not a pass/fail, it's just considered alongside your regular application

This.  If you've provided the relevant evidence and submitted a statement of how it has affected your education, then you have nothing to worry about.  VTAC will deal with the rest.

If however, you're worried about your documentation, you can log into VTAC and at the bottom of your home screen under SEAS application, you'll see a date when your documentation was processed, something new this year.

What about that Melbourne Uni guarantee? Don't they send you a letter for that? When is that usually received?

What guarantee? Guaranteed access to a graduate program is only relevant after your ATAR comes out.

Last year it was an email sent out to all those who qualified.  I'm not sure what they're doing this year.

What do you mean by "high weighting"?  Each SEAS application is assessed individually depending on what type of disadvantage you have.  VTAC employs specially trained people such as psychologists and social workers to determine the severity of your disadvantage based on the evidence and impact statements supplied.

Sorry to revive this semi-old thread, but I just had a question regarding this. Has anyone received an email or any notification about the SEAs scheme?
I'm really worried because I will not make my course without being considered with SEAs.
Thank you for the help guys.

You won't be told anything about whether or not you were "successful" with seas, you'll just get an offer as usual

Students last year got emails stating the scores needed for certain courses, didn't they?
Regardless, I hope you're right Russ, thank you! :)

I was under the impression that was for a special entry program. I applied through SEAS and never received any information about it (I was over the cutoff anyway but I don't think that matters)

I have no idea about this SEAs thing, you're probably correct. I really hope you're right though, because then I'd actually have a chance! :)
