Anyone have any tips? (For VCE, 2011)

I'm in year 11 and recently, I bombed big time on my only 3/4 exam (Stupid AusHistory). I'm anticipating anywhere between 30-35, despite my perfect A+ SAC average. I'm still recovering from my aftershock... Kinda depressed. :(
Anyway.. What I really wanted was some advice, for year 12. I plan to make up for my epic failure in doing so well in VCE, but I have my doubts. My subjects are: Eng,Further,Methods,Psych and Visual communication & Design. As crazy as it seems.. my goal for psych/ Further / Visual comm is 50. I know, I dream big.. my failure motivates me. (Is that a good thing) ? :) As for Methods and English; it could fluctuate depending on my adaptation skills..
Most of you people here do amazingly well, as I've noticed!
So does anybody have any tips on how to achieve that 50 in further / psych / visual communication?
Did you guys revise EVERY DAY? Did you start preparing before year 12 even began (With your textbooks) ? Share your stories please :) I plan to do WHATEVER it takes to get high marks - even if it means studying before school even begins - what's the best way to begin for me?

of course it's a good thing

No, I only revised like once before every SAc, and maybe 2-3 times for each exam, with each revision session taking 1-2 hours.

The trick is to study consistently (rather than cramming before exams and Sacs), and then at the end of the year, convince yourself that VCE is not important so that you don't feel the pressure during exams.

Yeah... but kyzoo... you are a GENIUS. I, for one, cannot get A+ scores unless I continually revise my stuff..

But Darren, don't worry! I was depressed after my English 3&4 exam too.. 2 weeks later, I'm just laughing at how dismal my performance was! And I guess I just keep on telling myself that I can repeat it next year.

Don't let stress take over your mentality.... by the sounds of it, you will do well! Make sure you ask for help on VN next year too.

Your gonna want to familiarize yourself with the Course Guides well before the year starts.

Also, don't neglect English. It's really really important to have a decent score, considering it's automatically top four.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

well like, by revision, I mean looking back at all your past notes.

I didn't really revise taht much because I spent a lot of time learning stuff really thoroughly the first time. Like, I went through every relevent page of the textbook and made notes =/

I don't know about other people, but I went cold-turkey on games this year.  Also avoided watching TV shows (movies are better, because they finish in a couple of hours, while TV series can last forever - hello LOST!).
In other words, just minimise distractions altogether (I'm looking at you Facebook). I got to the point where I was so bored, that I ended up studying, just to have something to do.
Last piece of "advice", utilise these coming summer holidays; they will be your best friend if you work your arse of over the break. I finished Unit 3 Accounting, the Further course and the Economics course over the break, and didn't need to really study much during the year. Unfortunately, I neglected English - DON'T DO THE SAME!

So how would I go around familiarizing myself with the course over the holidays? Make notes using the VCAA website or?

Yeah I know but I really want to just go through the pain and suffer for one year. I have so much at stake, I want to do the best I can. :(
I know I can do well. These past few years, especially this year, I have been slacking off SOOO much, I haven't done any homework basically..
