so I was thinking about accounting as my 3/4 next year, after i got a pm saying history of australia is boring and I shouldn't do it

So what does everyone think about me doing accounting as my 3/4 this year.....
Just a question, can I still get like a 50 (not that I'm aiming that high)... but is it possible for me to get a 50 without doing the 1/2 ????

PS the form is due monday so I have to decide my six subjects by then
So far I have selected: Chemistry, Math Methods, English, Further Maths and Psychology..... and I want to do Accounting as my 3/4

Advice would be nice!

Accounting is a good subject to do. My friend didn't do the 1/2 biology but ended with a study score over 40.

I'm sure many people have gotten 45+ without doing the 1/2 sequence.

its not so much as to how other people went in their VCE, its how you will go.

if you want to do acc 3/4 next year, i suggest you go have a long chat with your acc teacher and arrange sessions that will help you cover coursework that will be assumed knowledge in 3/4

its not impossible, but you need to put in the work for ANY subject to get a high score.

3/4 is an extension of 1/2, that's why its a sequence. it is always recommended for you to do 1/2 before 3/4.
and so long as you are confident and know your course, anyone can do well.

but more importantly, are you doing any vce subjects (1/2) right now in year 10?

ya agreed but
something like chem you cannot do well like 45+ without the 1/2
is it  the same for acc?

it is possible to cover the 1/2 course in 1 semester [unofficially that is]
if you want a 45+, you want to know the course as best as possible. no subject is easy to get a high score in.
if you think acc is an "easy" subject, then please reconsider. the competition is pretty tough there.

I did accounting early (with units 1/2). I think it will be challenging to try and get 45+ without doing 1/2 as you are competing against people who have done it. Accounting is a subject you have to be consistently good at! You can't afford to drop silly marks in the exam because every mark you loose will cost you significantly! As Mao said, it is not a hard subject to understand, but it is a subject that is hard to do well it because the competition is so large and a lot of people want to do well in it!!

Yes, you can still get pretty high scores without doing 1/2. All 1/2 accounting does is teach you the mere basics of small business accounting and don't tend to cover alot of 3/4 stuph. One of my relatives got a 47 without doing 1/2 accounting (yes, it really pissd me off... :P)
