ATARNotes VCE Trial Examinations
Upon talk to many members and staff members with regard to this potential idea, it appears we have the green light to start creating VCENotes Trial exams.
Our forum already contains original notes, but when it comes to examinations, aside from the free tsfx, KBT, VCAA, and some others, there is not much to legally offer to our users. VCEnotes was established in order to provide all students access to a plethora of VCE resources, and I think that this idea will only further extend what VN has to offer.
As for the business side of things, the intention is that these exams be made free to all students in Victoria, as is somewhat implied by the philosophy of ATARNotes. However, we intend to make these examinations commercially available for Private Schools, and they will be sent out to Public Schools. Proceeds, as minimal as they may be, will go towards the writers, as an incentive, and ATARNotes, in order to pay for domain hosting, and new features on ATARNotes
As many of you are hoping to tutor next year, some of you may have already planned to make a trial exam based on what you think is important to know, taking into account previous assessment reports, previous exam questions, and questions which a low proportion of the state would get correct. If together we could manufacture trial papers which do apply to the course, and are produced on the basis of VCAA papers, we have the potential to really increase the reputation of VN.
Additionally, we would be able to send the exams to friends, tutors, and schools, to further spread the word.
Why should you contribute?
-The good feeling on the inside
-Returning back to the community which has helped you in the past
-Acknowledgement of contributors on the paper itself
-Having written trial examinations, it places you in a position where you may be perceived as more experienced than others when it comes to VCE. This could come in handy should you want to pursue an Education-related job or career
-Whilst it should not be your primary motivation, it is possible that you could reap some benefit in the form of money or book vouchers by contributing
I have already PMed some people who I think would be interested, but
if you are keen on helping out, could you please post, along with which subject you are willing to help out on Remember, if we can get small teams of people working on the one paper, it will not take excessive amounts of effort. Once a small number of people have been established for each subject which people are willing to make exams on, details can be exchanged, and there can be perhaps one person to oversee that subject. If there are many people willing to help on the one subject, there is a chance that even two papers could be produced in the same year.
DifficultyEssentially we want to be able to produce papers which would be on par with a "hard" vcaa paper, which explores concepts which the majority of the state has been shown to be weak in. Hence consulting of past VCAA papers and assessment reports, along with recurring weaknesses observed in the forum boards, will help us create a paper which will be very effective learning for anyone who wishes to complete it.
Additional help required-VCENotes Logo for examinations
-Getting permission from VCAA to use formula sheets
-Formatting into exam format (enwiabe is willing to help on this)
-Diagrams
Other Ideas-Gaining feedback and statistics on exams which can be added to a solution/"assessment report" for future years
Time Frame-Completion would be ideal before the start of university. This is just so that there isn't too much stress on you guys during the year. Also if the time frame is too long, I think some people may naturally lose interest.

In order to join one of the teams writing an exam, please provide your username, and a line or two on why you want to help write the exams. Those who put their hand up to write them up for free do not need to reapply, but may opt out if they wish. We are not looking for people just with high scores, as long as you are passionate, you have the right intentions, and are familiar with exam style questions, you will be accepted.
Additionally, it would be nice if I could have someone to help me co-ordinate this, so just pm me if you want to do that Volunteers list
