only 3 was left in my class D:... wow no wonder the media average is so bad! but I guess their loss is our gain right :P?
haha yup. We're not allowed to leave our exams at my school. But one person slept in the corner, and about another 8 weren't writing anything basically and then another like 10 were mucking around the whole time.

Media is filled with so many people who take it as a bludge. Hence it's not as difficult to get in the 40s for as some other subjects. But that leads to crappy scaling :(

I would be disappointed with anything below 47 tbh. I've put in so much work that anything below would really be a disappointment. But I have no idea what my paper will get, I don't feel "super confident". My answers were either fine or completely wrong :S
Dec 13th, shilayli06 gets <40 for Media
Dec 14th, Pad Col and OB's Piz mysteriously burn down

More like <45 and I will burn down everything.

Less than 40 I would kill Obie AND burn down his pizza shop.

For what it's worth I found it really straightforward. Finished with heaps of time to look over my work.
Awkward... Haha. I didn't find it that easy.
I wouldn't worry about it not being easy. I found last years exam pretty hard and was writing up until the very last minute.

Generally the people who come out of the exam really cocky and confident end up doing shit. Much better to set your expectations low and be surprised than overconfident and disappointed.

Cheers man. I'll be uploading my media film on youtube by the end of this week so I'll PM you when it's up. You're probably gonna be a really harsh judge considering your 50! haha. Guessing you got into top screen too? Which film was yours? I went and saw it this year, was pretty good, although WAYYY too many office animations haha. You've basically done everything I want. 98 ENTER, 50 in media + top screen. Congrats. I aspire to replicate your success haha.

Considering we were never given an actual definition for acting, thought I'd run mine (the one I used today) past you guys. I thought of it on the spot haha, so fingers crossed.
It was something like....
Acting refers to an actor adopting a persona and/or mannerisms in order to portray a character. Acting can involve utilising a specific tone of voice/accent, as well as accentuating particular movements.
What do you guys think? 2 mark worthy?

hmm probably, you've incorporated most aspects of acting so I don't see why not, although I don't know what they're specifically after, I wrote something like: The production element of acting refers to the way in which an actor portrays their character in a narrative. This incorporates elements such as their body movements, body posture, facial expressions and tone of their voice. All of these contribute to the way in which acting is used as a production element. <<<<< It was something along the lines of this.

Good as. Only 2 marks anyway, so I doubt it has to be too great an answer. I think they were just trying to trip up kids who would write "Acting is how a CHARACTER acts" (ie - Say that it is how the character acts, now how the actor portrays the character).

Haha touche. I think a lot of people won't get the mark because in the 09 assessors report it said "many students poorly defined acting" so it must be a weak point. Well hopefully we both get really high scores. I would actually throw things across the room in just cheer elation if I got 50.
