Unit 3 Outcome 1 Results

My teacher told me that I got atleast a 35/40 for the first SAC (Outcome 1 - Data analysis module).

She said that my mark would probablly  go up (but she wasn't 100% certain) - she hasn't fully gone over everything ..

I was really disappointed because a 35/40 is only 87% and I wanted atleast a 90%  >:(

I'm really hoping my mark goes up to a 37/40 = 92% ( :-[

If it stays at 35/40 am I still able to get a 36+  :-\

BTW, How did you all go?

dude~calm down

1. one SAC is NOT going to determine your SS

2. it really depends on your cohort. saying you got XX% without ranking is not helpful for ANYONE to predict a likely SS

3. worrying what score you are going to get now wont help, you should be working as best as you can regardless.

4. and NO ONE, will be able to accurately tell you "yes you will get at least a 36+" or "you are definitely a 40s material", because the calculations will count not only your scores and the cohort's scores, but also the entire state and your school's GAT performance.

knowing the system wont help you to get a better score, just, better luck next time.

Dude I got 77% and the highest was 80% =S

but some other classes (obviously in our cohort) had people with around 90%...
point is... one sac is not the end of the world

oh btw...
i have said on a number of occasions, my brother who got 43 in further last year got roughly the same as what I got on this sac(maybe low 80's he said) and apparenrtly it was very similar, if not the same as my sac this year.

So case study 1: Impossible is nothing

I'm quite pleased with how I went; I got a 98% on my most recent SAC.

Being an IB dropout, I have absolutely NO idea how the scores work and how SACs determine your exam mark or study score and blah, so I just ignore it.

Let the scores work themselves out. Don't stress about stupidly hard to understand statistical crap. And enjoy yourself and try your hardest :) IMO your marks are great anyhow.

lol yeah i am worrying but theres like 200 people at my school who do further maths and there were many people who got 100% so i'm already behind - i would be ranked about 20-50

im stressing cos everyone says how competitive further is and how you need nearly perfect marks just to get a decent SS

yep, that sounds like further.

regardless of how people describe it being "easy" and "bludge" and all that, it is competitive as hell.

so ignore all the administrative stuff, just work hard and do as well as you can =]

Im not really good at quoting, but that is so true MAO. Numerous times have i heard about people "putting aside" further as a subject which you basicaly have to write your name on the exam to get 40+. I always remeber this one quote, i cant remember who said it to "Further is an possible subject- but impossible to go well in (study score)...while specialist is an impossible subject- bu is possible to score well in it". IMO thats what really sums it up 4 me
"Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths"

Hmm...i think it is not that difficult to go well in further, but...watch out for stupid mistakes LoLs.
I stuffed up last in in further...coz i sorta slacked off, and ended up with a SS of 41...so i'm repeating it Lmao.

At this point, i dont think u should be worrying about ur sac scores.
Just make sure u do ur best and work extra hard in preparation for the exams :)
And yes, u definitely still have a chance to get 36+  ^^
At my school, our teachers make the sacs pretty easy...so quite a few ppl get full marks.
For the core sac...i think i got about 37-38/ 40 last year...and 40/40 this year :)
~2007~   * Further [41]

~2008~ * English [33]  * Accounting [39]  * Specialist [27]   * Methods [36]  * Further [45] :D  * Chinese S/L [26]

ENTER: 91.15
