What happens if you were to only undertake 5 subjects in total for the whole of VCE.
Will this drastically impact on your enter or the fact that it will be easier to focus on your other subjects.
I'm doing methods this year as a 6th subject but I find it extremely hard (bad teacher) and I am falling behind in classwork.
Most of the courses I want to undertake at Uni don't require methods as a prerequite as I have made changes to my courses.

I do not believe that the extra points you will get to your aggregate are outweighed by concentrating more in other subjects. Might as well keep it, and even if you get 10 for a study score, it's still +1 to your aggregate.

It really depends on how you are going with the other subjects. Just remember that a sixth subjects takes up an extra 4-5 periods a week and perhaps an extra 3-4-5 hours of homework a week. Add them up for a year and you have atronomical numbers. The point is if you think you need more time for your other subjects (i.e. you feel that you would spend more time on it and you believe you can do well) and you are really determined, then go for it. If you think that perhaps you might waste that time however, then dropping methods just for the sake of it is a no-no.

Just a note, for middle range (average students) at our school are recommended to do 5 subjects (emphasis on recommend). But those who want to get into high ENTER uni courses are told to keep 6 subjects. So keep in mind what you want to do and how high you need to get as an ENTER to get your course!

 I dropped methods midway through yr 12. i hadn't done units 1+2  so it was rather hard though I quite enjoyed it. Mind you, I was still pretty lazy about my other subjects and I would have kept at it had I known how attainable 25 was.

 
 However, If you would capitalize on the extra time, I would consider dropping it or just aiming for 30-40% on the assessments which *should* see you clear 25. I disagree with Coblin; B's = an SS of about 30, A's about 35. So [not knowing how well you're doing with other subjects] 35-30=5 which would obviously be more than your methods score divided by 10. And that's just for one subject

we cant gauge how much a person will benefit from dropping a subject, but however, in the case of rosie, I must say dropping it is the best way to go.
the methods course is not for everyone, and if you do continue on with it, it will be quite a hard struggle for you [from my observations]

Whilst the subject may indeed contribute to your ENTER by adding a few extra points, I believe this is insignificant and can be made up for in your other subjects with the extra time you will attain for study etc. Don’t worry about study scores, scaling and 6th subject calculations and all that statistical crap (I just ignore them ), just try your absolute hardest, and do subjects which you enjoy or are challenged or fascinated by.

i think it's better to gain a few more points on your top four subjects than to get 10% of methods.

Actually, I'm going to stay in it, for my own good.
