So I chose Methods... How hard is it to get 34?

Okay. I decided to trust my gut and continue Methods, because I realise it is hard to pull off a perfect further score. I got two C+'s in my methods exams, and I didn't study at ALL so it wasn't all that bad... However, My goal in Methods is 34. What grades will I be needing to pull off a 34 [scaled to 40]? Do I need to put in alot of effort? What were your experiences?

*Also if I wanted to do distance education Further could I? [since my school only lets you do 5 subjects in year 12]
Thanks

There are a LOT of duds doing methods, and they are just aiming to get 25+ for a particular course. Getting 34 should be a piece of cake for you.

Unless your school is excessively strict about subject selection and whatnot, you should have no trouble doing further via distance.

I never did the unit 2 exam for methods but I'd assume that actually studying for a subject would bring far better results, so 34 should be pretty doable. You'd be looking at about that with a low A average (for sacs and exams).

Then again there are duds (:P) in most other subjects too

As for OP, I think I've told you this already, I got a 34 in methods last year with moderated SAC grade of A, and 2 B+s for both exams.

Regarding Further through distance ed, just ask your VCE coordinator about it, I'm sure they can make exceptions for high achieving students

It started off a bit tricky but as the year progresses...it is alright I guess.
Just keep on top of the work and do revision even when there are no sacs

lol I was like this as well..key thing is to maintain it.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Well i was homeschooled from grade 2 til year 10 when i chose to re enter main stream education...

My first maths test for the year 10 was 3% (guessed a MC right)... slowly improved after a couple years of above average work, i am expecting a score between 35-38

If i am able to improve from literally asking the question "why are there letters in this maths question?" to being above average i think you can well and truly get above 34

especially if you got a C+, you have a good base to work on and if you study abit consistently i think a 37+ isnt out of the average persons reach...
