Actually, you have much less than that. About 10 months to work for it.

Hmm... I'm aiming for Arts/Law or Commerce/Law at Monash.. but if I get a 99.00 or higher, I'll do Arts at Melbourne Uni and get the guaranteed entry into Juris Doctor. :)
That's my exact plan too :D 99+ and guarenteed entry, three years to screw around in an arts course before we start law.

You may want to know that 99.00 is guaranteed for FFP (expensive) and you need 99.90 for guaranteed CSP.  So it is in your best interests to work hard unless you are willing to pay significantly more.

Can you give me an idea of the fees?

There is no way in hell I'm gonna get a 99.90.

About $100,000 for the whole degree (JD, 3 years) and the yearly fee will depend on your subject load/course structure

You can defer payment with FEE-HELP but only up to a maximum of about $85,000

yeah, I found that out last week :(. Sorry to go off topic, but they'd still reserve CSP places for people who do well in their undergrad course right, it's not just a matter of ATAR?

Yes, there will be CSPs available to university graduates without the guarantee

That probably works during the year and helps elevate your performance.
Nothing can change the results now. They probably already know our ATARs and SSs.

@ iffets12345 - That's a nice way of seeing things :)

lol, I never really thought it was a breakthrough idea, it's just that when you do scaled subjects, your atar ends up disproportional to your raw. Like some people get 38s with methods/spesh/french and then they get a 98.
Plus I worked for individual subjects so I want to see if they paid off, and weren't compensated for by a massive scale from a 35 in Specialist :)

P.S- I am starting to get the worries now guys.

100k + your undergrad degree.

You are better off doing a double degree with law at monash.  You should get in with low-mid 98 ATAR.

And no LSAT.

 :-\ :-\ :-X :-X

How much would the undergraduate Arts degree cost?

Monash it is.

Sometimes money and fees shouldn't be the defining factor.. but unfortunately, here, it is. $100K for the degree is just a bit rich.

If you're on a CSP it's pretty cheap relative to the FFP PG degree.

My arts subjects at UoM cost $663 a semester, so it'd be about $15,000 for the whole degree (taking into account that your breadth would be slightly cheaper because Arts subjects are the most expensive)

Hmm so the undergraduate wouldn't be a problem.

I would be doing the Juris Doctor with a full-fee placement for sure.. I won't be getting a 99.90 any time soon.

Monash isn't that bad IMO, other than the location.  If you are set on a certain job then I find Breadth at UoM to be a pain as well.

Here are some of the Monash degrees available:

28301-Arts/Law   Monash University/Clayton   TYPE 1    98.2
28341-Commerce/Law   Monash University/Clayton   TYPE 1    98.25
28321-Engineering/Law   Monash University/Clayton   TYPE 1    98.3
28381-Law   Monash University/Clayton   TYPE 1    99.35
28121-Science/Law   Monash University/Clayton   TYPE 1    98.3
28351-Music/Law   Monash University/Clayton   TYPE 1    RC  (would most likely need an audition)

Just because you don't get 99.9 doesn't mean you can't get a CSP place...
