From what I have read, I would have to agree there (who cares how to industrialise the production of sulfuric acid?)

What are you talking about? There is hardly any memorisation required in Chem. Also, unit 4 isn't that boring, it is fundamentals which means you can extend it as far as you like. It is the basis for understanding some very interesting stuff. And it's more physics related, which means more interesting.  

Chem is a good subject. Don't let the VCE course restrict your interest in it.

Oh yeah - point taken.

Just from memory though (it's been a while since I looked at Unit 3 stuff) the content wasn't really that much memorisation - if you're taking about formulas like n = cV, my tip is to use units to quickly work out formulas

I don't memorise if i can help it, but when i did chem 3/4 work i found that things like formulas of polyatomic ions i can recognise and remember after i do problem after problem

@pi: Chem Olympiad is simply awesome! :D E.H got in the summer camp, will be in my class!

By which you mean more memorisation than maths.

Well yes, I concede that is true.

What definitions are you talking about? Like all of the titration stuff and the different types of catalyst? That's the only 'definitions' I can think of..
