Sleeping Patterns?

On a serious note, what time do you hard-workers go to bed. During year 12. Is it better to come home eat and then study all night then go to sleep early. Or is it better to come home relax for an hour than study till late? I just want to know because I dont want to be a zombie during year 12 but I also want to be very successful >90.00

Depending on your enter score:
Enter:
50.00+ Go to sleep before 4am
60.00+ Go to sleep before 3am. You have enough leeway to try the '20 things never to do during exam' at your VCE exams
70.00+ Go to sleep before 2am. Make sure to cram the night before your exams.
80.00+ Go to sleep before 1am. You have to care a bit about VCE, but not a lot. You can start learning the course in October
90.00+ Go to sleep before 12am. Work consistently all year. Social life takes lower priority
99.00+ Go to sleep before 11pm. Work. Study. Sleep. Nothing else permitted outside this routine
99.95 Don't go to sleep. Go study.

You dont have to be that strict :\
im aiming for 98+ and i went to bed well after 12 every night, and most days after school didn't do any homework - only studied for SACs usually did most work on weekends during the day and caught up during holidays with any missed work (methods never did homework but caught up in holidays), or got ahead so i didnt have to do homework (chem).

its really up to you, don't become a zombie/robot, as to get 90+ you can do far less then you think, do enough but dont kill yourself..

I slept about 1 every night, woke at 6. Sleep deprivation win.

But yeh, it wasn't really a case of studying late. I studied normal times, until perhaps around 10.30 at which I'd then start relaxing; MSN, movies, anime etc.

@Chavi: How's that work? What if they stay up to 2am studying every night? =/

There is minimal correlation between sleeping patterns and school marks imo.

Just get enough sleep.

Yeh of course; just that even as a joke, the pattern didn't correlate with how I thought it'd work o.O It can work either way I guess, but ultimately the point is the study time has to come from somewhere. Personally for me it was at home around after dinner time which was the most productive time of my day. Going into school with an average of 5 hours sleep meant I slept through most BM and methods classes and struggled surviving double English periods, urgh.

The time which you go to sleep and time spent asleep is absolute rubbish in terms of results success.  Every person is different.  Some will prefer 8-9 hours sleep, whilst others will prefer 6 hours.  Some will go to bed early, others later.  It is entirely up to the individual.

The main thing I would say is to find a routine which works and try to stick with it, although the unpredictability of VCE makes this very hard.

Also, I was lucky to get days off all the time, so I would study during the day and rarely study at night, which was relaxing time.  :)

99.95 Don't go to sleep. Go study.
That's quite ridiculous. You can't possibly do well if you don't sleep all year, because you'll just be drowsy all the time while studying. More like <10  Don't go to sleep. Go study.
"the innocent sleep, /Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care, /The death of each day's life, sore labor's bath, Balm of hurt minds, great nature's second course,/ Chief nourisher in life's feast."

I'm probably going to aim to get ~8h a night as usual :)

I got a solid 8-9 hours every night.

It is SO important to get an adequate amount of sleep.

Sleep=Restoration=Energy=Concentration=SUCCESS.

The best pattern for a regular week day would be SCHOOL - FREE TIME - HOMEWORK - BED.

++++ homework before bed is so good
hardly did it though, nor did i ever sleep as much as 8-9 hours o-o

sleep isn't exactly important for everyone though, people are so different!
