Duxing is solely based on one's ATAR score. Pre-emptively declaring someone Dux defeats the purpose of the title - like awarding the gold medal before the start of the race.
Perhaps Mr Dux achieved another award?

other than ass-kisser of the year....no

lol thanks for the opportunity :)
not the teachers, they all hate the principal too! my chemistry teacher is a legend, she's seriously the best in the state, lectures at latrobe uni as well as our school...and he gave her 2 days a week of work -_- so now she's leaving and to rub it in, at the awards night where the ass-kissing dux was named he did this presentation to teachers that were leaving (including the only decent maths teacher) but omitted her. and i asked her "hey miss i though u were leaving?" and she said " i am" and nearly started crying, my god it broke my heart, i was tempted to run on stage and grab the mic and aknowledge her for everything she's done for me :(

oh, also at that night u were meant to go in school uniform but mine was thrown out last day of exams, so i went in casual. not only was i not allowed on stage to accept my awards for academic excellence in bio and physics, but the bastard didnt read out my name. the whole point i sat through his bullshit speeches for 3 hours was to get these awards and he didnt aknowledge me...son of a bitch.

ok, back on track. even the teachers are a bit :/ with the dux cause he kinda presents this arrogance and he's convinced he's right about everything...cause hes the captain...

I heard that it's 98.2, the highest dux we've had. 2 years ago we had a 95 which I considered low for DUX but a good ENTER overall. However I heard a rumour someone got 99+. I hope that's not true. I'd like my friend to break that record.

At one of my schools dux was based on performance in schoolwork. Thus my friend, who got 99.90 shared the award with someone who got 98.90

Does anyone else receive the "principals award"?

I think my school's dux is rarely not 99.95
Melbourne Grammar or MHS?

...or MacRob (although I know he is male) or Scotch?

(why do people always forget to mention the decade dominating MacRob?)

But in this case, the school is MHS

Slightly off-topic, six of the seven duxes from my school in 2009 have ads on this site IIRC.  :3

Any ideas on how many your school is looking at getting this year?

I'm guessing two to four - doubt we'll match last year.

How about next year? :P

Around the same as last year (five and above) - incredible year level.
