How did your school go last year Mao? I don't think anyone would have topped your score just yet!

dux of my school (public) in 2008 was 98.80, for the record. I think 2009 was like 99.xx or something.

At my school (ranked 430) our duxes for the last 4-6 years have all be 99+, except in one occasion where it was 98.
But right after the top 2/3 there is a major dip, mid 90's, low 90's, 80's
glen waverly secondary - high ranked state school had 20+ people in the 99+ zone this year

You know what's messed up? Glen Waverley gets high-ranked scores, but it's included in RMIT's regional bonus +5 ATAR points thingy. I thought it's supposed to be for disadvantaged kids.
I won the GAT: 49/50/50.

Yes, I have. But I also happen to have a very close friend who lives in Glennie, and if her parents can afford $20,000 a year private school fees, you can hardly call her "disadvantaged". I suppose the main point is that Swinburne's regional ATAR bonus scheme (Yeah I got it wrong before, not RMIT) is a stupid idea. My brother lives in Wantirna South, if I were to stay at his house for the entirety of next year, they'd just give me 5 extra bonus points, which I definitely don't need/deserve.
