^^ At a school ~5 mins from mine, the previous record Dux was like 97.xx. This year, a girl got 99.8, this is pretty impressive no matter what school you go to imo, proof that a low ATAR is not your school's fault, if you apply yourself and are hungry enough, you will get into your dream course.

FWIW thushan, I know a kid in like year 9 at Scotch. Absolute faggot lol.

lol who? (PM me)

There was no Dux at my school last year. No one did VCE. Haha. (yes, "shitty western suburbs government school")

This year, though, Dux was 99.6 or something.

FM: 48, Spesh: 46, Chem: 47, ESL: 35, Phys: 44, Meth: 46, his ChineseSL score didn't count.

Or something along those lines. Shame he couldn't lift that ESL.

My school (this year) was the complete opposite, under-performed. We had one student get 99.95 - which comparatively isn't that good, considering we had 3 students get 99.95 in 2007.

I'm hoping also my year level does well (including myself!) - we had quite a few students get high scores for their 3/4 subject(s).

WUT :|

What is your school?! :S

What was the highest psych score? (If you know it...)

I'm sure you could definitely do well at any school though, I thought I doomed cos my school is pretty bad. But if you work hard then you can overcome that :)

Hmm, true. And more and more people are moving to IB, more than 25% of my year level are doing IB. I spent quite a while tossing up between the two. Picked VCE because, quite frankly, I'm lazy, I could get a 3/4 over and done with in Year 11, and I like being able to swap around subjects at my whim.
I reckon VCE was a damn good choice. My friends who do IB are often stressed and never seem to have spare time to just hang out. Plus, if I did IB, I would have never discovered the awesomeness of VN - I mean AN. Really glad most of the super-smart kids have turned to IB; less internal competition for me :D (ie. higher SAC rankings)

Awww, shucks :)
At least I get to prove to them high-n-mighty IB kids that doing VCE=/=stoopid. When people consider moving to VCE cos they can't keep up with IB or for whatever reason, they call it "dropping down" into VCE. And I have actually been asked "Why'd you choose VCE? VCE's for dumb kids." Oh, the arrogance.
