I have attached a simple question sheet that was provided to me for chemistry during transition. It basically encapsulates the simple things that you should be well and truly have knowledge over in unit 1 especially.

Good Luck class of 2011 Chemistry Students :)

I had a shot at it.

It has been way too long, sory but I didn't have a data book (for the periodic table, value of 0degC in K (-273?))

Anyway, here it is I'm not sold on my working though.

K= T in degrees + 273 so yeah what you said is correct, im doing these questions now almost done

My answers:
a)i) 0.0381g
ii) C3N3O9H5
iii) same as a)ii)

b) 3.77 x 10^-22
c)i) 4C3N3O9H5 -> 12CO2(g) + 6N2(g) + 10H20(g) + O2(g)
ii) 1146kPa

not sure if these are right...

Are we supposed to know the chem formula of glycerin? What other substances are we expected to know? e.g. glucose etc

Yeah no clue mate , but its unlikely that u would need to remember chem formulas especially the more complex ones like Glycerin. Its more a process of determining their molecular formulas through calculations eg mol ratios.

well you can figure out molecular and empirical formulas if the question gives you info about mass, molar mass etc use mol ratios
i think they can give us questions in regard to solving for empirical or molecular formulas

If the answer is in grams that would be correct.
