ATARS AND UNI - MIN REQ

So, just got my atar and was wondering if I am able to make it to my desired course
So, min requirement for Science at melb is 85 - and I just scraped in but with lower than 89 (clearly in)
What determines that I enter the course?
When will i find out?
Can i do soemthing to up my chances?

i'd like to do commerce at melbourne
2011 minimum: 92
2010 clearly in: 94.80

my 2010 atar: 94.15

i am also SEAS category "under represented schools" i have applied for that for melbourne
someone at melbourne uni open day told me the clearly in will be lower for 2011 entry. i'd like to believe him but who knows.
but between 92 and 94.80, 94.15 has gotta be in!

Hey mate, its great to hear such good news! Let me know if theres a confirmation on clearly in Science at melb uni (atar of 85).
I question the 300 places, as i think thats for 2012, but i'll have a browse. Best to go to the course day on thursday. Thanks mate, might cya there.

I wouldn't worry if you fit the SEAS requirements, maybe worth calling though just to put your mind at ease.

Do you know what last years entry scores were? If you got the right score for entry last year, chances are it'll still be fine this year.

Menashi, HOW DO YOU KNOW NEXT YEARS CLEARLY-IN? to my knowledge only 2011 'minimums' are revealed not the clearly-ins :O

I'm in a similar position to Raheem i really want to do commerce and Melbourne and I got 94.60. But I'm not SEAS. Would the clearly-in change by enough for me to get in?

Just be aware that the clearly in ATAR can adjust up or down by 5 for scores less than 90, and roughly up and down by 3 for scores in the 90s. Hence make sure to have your backups listed in your preferences even if you just got above the previous years clearly in score

Only eligible Access Melbourne applicants will be admitted to a CSP below the minimum ATAR.

to my understanding, this means, a seas (access) applicant like me! could get a spot even with less than minimum (92)
and i actually got moar than the minimum and im an access applicant!!!

i then called up the uni info hotline and confirmed this.
its looking good i will hope for the best  i owe you thanks for getting me to call!

coletrain, clearly-in means clearly in! while 94.60 might not be "clearly" in, its that close that it must be IN!! thats my understanding of it but i hope you fin out more to ease your tension.

SO my atar was 85.40, if my pref were:
BSc - Melb uni (min req 85)
Bachelor Environments - Melb uni (min req 85)
Bachelor of ARts - Melb uni (min req 82)

Would i be guranteed into melb uni? or what are my chances (%) of getting into melb uni? If so what course?

how about 84.45? i'm a .55 away! and i'm getting really anxious and frustrated about it :S
