Only the principal can request a remark from VCAA from what I have read, so you have to convince him or her.

I doubt they will be putting their rep on the line because you have a hunch (but no proof whatsoever) that your mark is lower than what you think it should be.

For all you know it may have been ordinary, and you actually did better than what you really should have because you may have got a few lenient exam markers.

If you request a remark you will probably jeopardize this.

Just focus on next year.  There is plenty of time to make things right.

a lot of people this year feel that they deserved a high mark, including me, but really we can't do much about it. it really isn't worth complaining because chances are vcaa will be right and you've just wasted your time. But if you really do feel that a huge mistake has been made, don't bother contacting PRAS, i did and they basically said that vcaa NEVER makes mistakes. so i guess just move one, you have one more year anyway :)

Firstly, my whole class as a whole were a strong cohort according to state. There were people achieving 98s and 100s in SACs. Mind you the SACs where much harder than the exam itself. We got the results today and the highest was 37 from year11 and 46 from year12. One of the year 12s who got 40 had his writing published on a newspaper due to its quality. I beleive the marking was rigged as competition is fierce within the subject I did.
The scale of the anomaly you describe is unlikely to have actually occurred. Occum's razor. If you honestly believe you have a case, go for it. However, it is very common for people to be disappointed about their score, it's difficult to gauge just how fierce the state-wide competition is unless you've had some experience with it before.

By the way, the year I got an essay published in the Age was the same year I got a 38 for English. These things happen and serve to prove that the VCE is a flawed measurement of talent.

Hey,
i got my results back today in the mail and it came with something which allowed for you to get your exam re-assessed, it costs an additional $10.00 and a signature from your school principal.

I'll probably get that done, but i was just wondering, would it be possible for me to see my statement of marks before i could do this? They are on the same form..so? :D
I also wanted to get VCAA to come to my school and re-assess my SACs (additional $20 apparently), because my teacher is a complete moron, and marked everyone extremely low, because the previous year, he marked everyone extremely high - come study score time, those students had their SAC marks dropped because of their low exam and tried to sue the teacher.

Just a slight overstatement (couple make-or-break mistakes in exams all round, amongst other minor but controversial ones)

But yeah their marking system is very solid so I highly doubt that they are 'rigging' it. If anything studies with >1000 students can be considered competitive, not one with just 200 students.

onur I'm also curious to know what your GA's were

Just letting you know in the last 5 years or so they have only remarked one 3/4 paper which was English
No. Someone at my school had his accounting paper remarked and got an extra 10 or so marks.

I didnt see that option on mine?

There an option to examine your exam paper at your school and just look at it but in no way is it reassessed

No offense ur complaint is unwarranted onur if the subject was Turkish. They give out very few40+ in languages ESP in small languages such as Turkish. In fact 46 from ur yr 12 may be top 5 mark in state. Also sacs are gauged by external assessment getting 100 in sacs doesn't guarantee much except a top rank. It doesn't mean guarantee 45+

And The Age will publish anything. There's some 14 year old kid writing a column that just makes me cry every time I read it.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Btw, I hope everything turned out ok for everyone. While I hear circumstances with successful outcomes are rare, I think for cohort 2011, we've got another chance to perform our best.
