Essentials Methods questions

Hey guys,

I've just been working through a few questions from the Essentials Methods book and
got a little confused with this question:

12. Let f(x) = (px+q)/(x+r) where x is an element of R\(-r,r)

(a) If f(x) = f(-x) for all z, show that f(x) = p for x is an element of R\(-r,r)

(b) If f(-x) = -f(x) for x (does not = 0), find the rule for f(x) in terms of q.

Any help would me much appreciated.

Hey TT,

I was wondering how did you go about revising for methods
over the holidays? Since I'm new to methods because I'm doing
3 and 4 methods without doing 1 and 2. And did you use any additional
texts?

Kind regards,
Kaushik
