Aiming for 40 raw
I've been learning Japanese since grade 4, but for those first three years it was really all basic, I think what drove me to do Japanese in Vce was going on exchange there for two months, and I havent looked back, leaving in three days :D
An aspect which I find challenging still is engaging in a proper conversation
sometimes I feel as if I'd be more enriched in life if I bought an RV and started cooking meth

Likewise, I am doing Japanese SL next year too.  ^^

Aim: 40 Raw

Why: I was somewhat of an avid anime-viewer back in the day (i.e. a few years ago) and that really got me interested in the language. Plus, I had studied French, Latin and German previously in my old school prior to Year 9 and decided to do a LOTE I had not yet studied before. So far, it has been an amazing 3 years of Japanese learning.

Difficult: Kanji, most definitely. I have a pretty strong command over vocabulary, I'm pretty comfortable with a wide range of grammar but I am next to hopeless at Kanji. >.> Once I use it a fair bit I know it pretty well but it's actually learning the Kanji that's the most difficult for me.

As you can probably tell, I'm a new user to the forum but I hope to be active next year and in the years to come. :)

Oooh Me too:)

Study Score Aim:
Anything over 35 would be pretty awesome. But over 40 would be like amazing!  :D
So I guess my aim is 40, But I'd be happy with anything over 35? lol (P.S How hard is it to get over a 40?)

Why I am learning Japanese:
-Been studying Jap since like Yr 7 (Well technically Grade 4, but I don't think the stuff we did counts as 'studying', more like playing shop keeper & jan ken pon ><) So why not continue?
-Its nice to know a language
-I'd like to visit Japan one day
-Get good grades  ;)

Annoying/hard thing about japanese:
Well not really about Japanese but I find it annoying having to learning the plain form first, then figuring out the polite form. I reckon its so much easier to do it vice-versa. Damn you Wakatta! Lol  But yeah Japanese is cool (Y)

As long as you work hard and consistently throughout the year, you'll get there to 40 and above (or so I hear from tonnes of people ;D).  Just get in some solid hours in preparation for your general conversation part of the oral exam these holidays to take some time off the middle of the year that could be invested into other subjects.~ That's what I'm doing at least.. after I finish Chem. XD

We use the Obentou/Koukou Seikatsu combo at our school (except I think Obentou is out of print now..) and we learnt polite --> plain form. Ah well, as long as you know it for when it matters next year. ;D

Aiming for a 45 raw, but would still be really happy with anything 40+
Been studying jap since year 9, been interested in jap since watching Evangelion when I was about 3 or 4 years old aha!
I love picking up new grammar and sentence structures because it helps me express myself in writing and speaking.
I hate kanji .____.

Oh, and I have a habit to either use yankee japanese or teenage girl japanese >_> (damn dramas!)

Has anyone heard the listening section of the 2010 Japanese SL exam yet? My teacher was raging about it in class, going on about how easy it was, unfair to a certain group of students etc. XD He let us hear it as well and it was easier than most Year 11 standard ones, I'd reckon.

I'm guessing that won't happen next year. ;p
