Economics tutoring (50)
« on: December 22, 2010, 10:18:02 pm »
Hi, I studied Economics at both VCE and University level this year and obtained a 98.95 ATAR score with a perfect score in Economics. I also achieved 86 (H1) for Introductory Microeconomics and 75 (H2A) for Introductory Macroeconomics with a score of around 93% for the Macroeconomics exam but a few hiccups in terms of non-exam assessment. This year I will be studying second year economics subjects at the University of Melbourne.

I am very passionate about economics, and I really love talking about and teaching people economics, whether I'm getting paid for it or not. Somebody wanting to pay me would just be a bonus. I also love helping people, and I've been helping peopel with their work since primary school:P

Because I've studied economics at University AND VCE this year I am in the unique position of having achieved a perfect score with the new study design (just implemented this year) and having completed university economics. Because of this I can tell you everything you need to know to get great scores within the study design, as well as having a greater knowledge of economics than many high school economics teachers (sad, I know).

Just send me a personal message if you're interested. I'm from the South East area, so around there would be preferable:)

I'm also happy to help students in English (44), but I wouldn't feel comfortable spending an hour teaching it:)

I am considering tutoring in Economics, but I was mainly wondering the types of things that you'd cover?

Well I can go through the course before your class gets to it, I can give you extra problems and exercises, and explain things differently if anything troubles you, I can teach you how to answer exam-style questions, and I have a whole lot of university resources, so I can can teach you things in greater detail, or in a way that your classroom teacher probably wouldn't. It's really up to you and what you want to learn, I'm open to anything.

I haven't taken any other commerce or mathematics subjects, no, but I'm sure there are other students here who can help you with those. Maybe post a thread in the "wanted" section. I'd be charging about 20-25 per hour, depending on location, and I can tutor in the CBD or the south east area.

Still be offering it before this years end of year exams? (1+2) and next year when I do the 3+4?
Btw, where do you live?
