Double Degrees and the Timetabling System

Question: If you do a double degree (say Arts/Law or Arts/commerce), does that mean you will have less free/study time and more time spent in lectures/tutorials because you are doing more subjects. Not saying that is bad or anything but just curious to know.

Thanks

You still do the same amount of subjects per semester. Depending on what subjects you take, they may have more contact hours than the other half of your degree (eg science is heavier than law)

With double degrees, I believe you usually do 2 subjects from one degree and 2 subjects from your other degree each semester.

You don't do more subjects. Some double degrees have less contact times than single degrees (i.e Eng/Arts has less contact hours than straight Eng)

But a heck of a lot of reading time outside uni  :)

And does anybody know what to expect in terms of contact hours for Commerce/Laws at Monash?

Look up subjects you're likely to be doing in your uni's handbook and check how many contact hours there are per week.
