Your setup.

What kind of setup do you have for each subject book/folderwise?

E.g. for further I have:
- 4 exercise books (class work, class notes, chapter summaries and misc work),
- a display folder for loose sheets and handouts,
- and a binder folder for exams, which will become my revision folder towards the end of the year.

It might be a little late in the holidays to be setting up your books and such for each class, but by posting how everyone uses their books, it might give the clueless an idea for when they want to organise everything :)

Psychology:

Binder with two Spriax (140pg) lecture-pads (one for class notes, one for questions)
...with ~40 plastic pockets for worksheets.

English: Spraix(140pg) lecture pad with ~20plastic pockets

MM/GMA: 196page StudyMate exercise book (x4) {one for each unit} ; 96page (x2) for notes

Chemistry: Still deciding...

Warning -> Im going into a lot of detail :P

I have a 4 ring binder for each subject, and a display folder for handouts

Methods:
250 page book for mathsworld
128 page book for essentials
128 page for checkpoints
128 page book for jacks notes
192 page theory book

Specialists
Basically the same as above :P, except we're using heinemann spesh instead of mathsworld and i have a NEAP book

Physics
250 page book for heinemann
128 page Problem in physics book
128 page Checkpoint/NEAP book
192 page theory book
96 page graph paper book

Chemistry
250 page heinemann book
128 page jacks notes book
192 page theory book
128 page checkpoints/neap book
128 page heinemann 2 student workbook

English
2 250 page books, 1 for essays and 1 for the classwork.

The reason i have a plethora of 128 page books is that they were really cheap, so i decided to buy them in bulk :)

I'm also interested in this - not sure whether my current setup will be effective in the long-run, but here it is:

English:
- manilla folder for Language Analysis
- manilla folder for Text Response 1
- manilla folder for Text Response 2
- manilla folder for Context 1
- manilla folder for Context 2
- folder for essay-writing

Legal:
- manilla folder for Unit 3 (for theory and notes)
- manilla folder for Unit 4 (for theory and notes)
- folder for questions & answers

Latin:
- flashcards for (i) vocabulary, (ii) declensions and (iii) grammar
- manilla folder for Unit 3 resources
- manilla folder for Unit 4 resources
- exercise book for grammar notes
- folder for translations/comprehensions etc

Business:
- manilla folder for Unit 3 (for theory and notes)
- manilla folder for Unit 4 (for theory and notes)
- folder for questions & answers

Revolutions:
- manilla folder for Unit 3 resources
- manilla folder for Unit 4 resources
- exercise book for questions & answers
- folder for written tasks

Would really like to hear how everyone else is organising their stuff.. I've never been very organised with my equipment!

For each of my humanities subjects:
~2 ring binder (holds up to 200 sheets) w/ lecture pad - for class
~arch lever file (the really big ones) - for filing notes at home
~reliable hole puncher

For methods:
One of those small zip document wallets and a a regular exercise book.

I used to use plastic pockets and display folders, but now I find hole punching much easier.

  • English: Display folder and 1 exercise book.
  • Mathematical Methods (CAS): Display folder and 2 exercise books. 1 for doing exercises in, 1 for note-taking.
  • Chemistry: Display folder and 2 exercise books. 1 for doing exercises in, 1 for note-taking.
  • Legal Studies: Display folder and 2 exercise books. 1 for doing exercises in, 1 for note-taking.
  • Latin: Display folder and 1 exercise book.

That's my preliminary list, it will probably change throughout the year.

Prob do the same with  Legal and Methods, its quite annoying having to go and find your notes at times.

There was a good thread about this a while back.

For all my classes I have a lecture pad for notes and a lecture pad for exercises. I've also got this awesome slider, sheet protector thing that works great, I've got five of them for handouts.

For all my classes I have these folder-boxes, they're great. You can get them from Officeworks. Two blues one for English classes, the rest in red.

Oh and I've got three study suitcase things, two for all of my classes and one for exam prep. In the exam prep I've got examiners reports and past exams. With the other two, at the end of each term I put all the handouts I won't need in the case, saving them in a safe spot till exams.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

Literature

1 plastic pocket folder

Economics
1 book
1 plastic pocket folder

Further Maths
1 book
1 plastic pocket folder

International Studies
1 book

English

The secret to the system is that the book fits in the plastic pockets snugly. But keep it on the lowdown ;)
