For me, I did 2 hours per night on average.

I did also spend 1 hour a day exercising (Weight training or mountain biking) and a few hours of music (School bands and solo work) a week. This was, i think, essential to my success (I scored well above my goal) as it kept me fit, relaxed and gave me a break from bookwork whilst still engaging my brain.

Having said that, I spent ever spare period and half an hour of lunch in the library working!

...I also didn't start studying properly (ie not cramming!) until year 12.

If i can offer more advice, It is to keep well ahead with your studies. If you start preparation for a sac a few weeks out, making sure you understand all the principles and ideas that will be examined, you will relieve yourself of a lot of unnecessary stress and will reduce your workload!

Remember guys, Stay human! See your friends, do things you enjoy and stay organized.

Good luck!

Eff man, cannot stress this enough. The amount of concern you guys have with finishing the course 3 months before exam is superfluous.

I'm intending to do 30 minutes for each subject this year... so that would be a total of 2.5 hours a night, but I'm pretty lazy generally so I probably wont end up doing anywhere near that (and it'll cost me... damn you facebook).

For my 3/4 this year I didn't really study except before SACs and a lot before the exam (obviously), so I've never actually really experienced consistent "every night studying" outside of exam periods haha

She's 100% right.
Anyone who thinks that having a non-existent social life in VCE will ultimately yield a high ATAR can smb.
A balance is definitely necessary.

I have already reached my quota of arguments in VN for the month so I honestly don't care LOL, and I wasn't looking to argue with you, just clear up why exactly you are so bothered with me saying that about Andiio.
But I have to say,
VN is getting on my nerves too because so many people like you seem to encourage this face of hardcore studying and elitist expectations and views of how VCE should be handled- essentially that we must all exert ourselves to the point of only living for VCE and killing all other outside life sources.

FFS, wake up at 11am, eat your breakfast, do your hw, see friends and have a life and sleep at 12am, or even 2am.
Not to take it out on you ariawu, but I've seen this going on so much in the forum its been driving me insane.
Where were the days where we discussed CONCEPTS, not QUANTITATIVE MEASUREMENTS OF HOW MUCH WE STUDIED.

Do go on actually, because I'm curious as to what your perspective is.  Whilst I'm obviously not as jaded as iffets is, I'm inclined to agree with most of what she said.
