1. How does the timetabling work, after we set our preferences in Allocate, do we just wait then?

2. Anyone gonna sign up for MSA? Is it even worth it?

3. Is anyone going to the camps? The rep people were so persistent LOL

I'm not that experienced on monash just starting like you are.

1) Yeah you just wait till a certain date (forget when)

2) I might sign up, you get a lot of discounts for shops on and off the campus. Also, if you plan on joining any clubs or using the sports facilities also get a discount. It also funds some of the programs they run which are very good like protecting student rights or representing you if you get accused of cheating or some other kind of misconduct or if you just have a general issue with the university. You dont think youll ever need it untill you get yourself into some shit so *shrug*.

I'm signing up for it.

3) haha my guy was very persistent too, i don't think ill be going. I'd rather keep my $100 bucks and go out and drink with mates if i really wanted to get wasted. Someone pointed out the camps are basically booze and the friends youd make out of them are questionable anyway.

Yeah some of the discounts sound alright. It doesn't say much about discounts for sports/clubs though, hm might have to ask them.

Haha true, if you look at the people on the card..even some of the themes sound questionable. They were saying so much about how they made best friends there and stuff.

Sounds just like one big massive party where youre constantly off your face, the kind of friends id expect to meet there arent the kind of friend id want really.

Just find some sport clubs like the monash kendo club or something should show some discounts, i think you can even get the gym there cheaper maybe...

Anyway the card is ~$60 i think, you'd probably make that back in lunch discounts and stuff over the year

Yeah true that. I mean if i really wanted to meet new people i could just go and talk to some people at orientation?

Hm I've checked their sites, there doesn't seem to be many discounts, it only talks about discounts for monash students?

Most people just carry their bags around. However, I'm an arts student so don't have many textbooks or long days to worry about :P

I don't think you really need a locker, especially if you planned to have 1-2 subjects a day.
