Difference between eng and lit essays

Starting literature this year and am wondering what the major differences is between english and literature essays, in terms of structure, use of quotes and intros/conclusions???

Ok.  Basically, in literature, there IS no set structure.  As long as you're addressing the criterion, most markers don't care what kind of style you use.  

In terms of using quotes, in literature your quotes should bethe basis of your argument.  Furthermore, when quoting, you should be much more focused on how the language itself is constructed/utilised (kind of like in language analysis I guess).  In VCE English quotes are more just there to support the points you've already illustrated.  

@Intros/conclusions, as indicated previously, structure doesn't matter in literature.  I just go right into the analysis, and left it at the end at analysis (without a conclusion).
